The Quadro® FlexSift is the cutting edge in high capacity security screening and delumping of powders. The Quadro® FlexSift effectively separates, captures and retains impurities and other foreign materials easily and efficiently in a simple in-line configuration.
For over a four-decade period, Quadro® has been refining and improving conical milling equipment and technology. Today, the Quadro® Comil® is used in major manufacturing facilities worldwide and is the leading technology in uniform size reduction, sieving/screening, deagglomeration and homogenous dispersion.
The Comil®’s proprietary, advanced screen milling size reduction technology has been refined through thousands of applications to deliver reliable scalability, repeatability and performance. Our latest designs incorporate many innovations that offer greater application versatility and easier cleaning and maintenance. Our equipment design and construction are based on current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and meet USDA, CE and OSHA guidelines and regulations, as applicable.
Today, there are two distinct conical sieve product lines: the overdriven/underdriven models, and the new H20 Comil® high-energy conical mill. With more than 20 standard models, 200 screen types and dozens of different impellers, Quadro® offers the industry’s most extensive line of conical milling machines — customizable to your specific requirements.
Quadro® Comil® Overdriven
The Quadro® Comil® Overdriven mill is available in 5 models with capacities ranging from 0 to 40,000 lb/hr (0-16,000kg/hr). All models of the Comil® are scaleable. By adjusting the impeller speed to maintain tip velocity, the same particle size distribution can be achieved on all models using similar screen sizes. The Comil® is manufactured of stainless steel, making it suitable for use in the food, pharmaceutical, personal care/cosmetic and fine chemical industries. Each model is available at 3 different categories (Basic, Premium, Ultra). Countless options/customizations are available to allow the user to select the mill best suited for his application.
Based on the same technology as the Overdriven Comil®, the Underdriven models provide some unique advantages. The inline (straight) design enables larger product throughput and unhindered product flow. Complete with a low housing height for compact installation. The Underdriven models apply spacerless technology to obtain optimum impeller/screen gap for best process performance. The Underdriven units are available in 4 models (U5, U10, U20, U30) with capacities ranging from 0 to 55,000 lb./hr (0 to 25,000 kg/hr).
Quadro®'s New Scalable Lab System
With the ability to alternate between five milling solutions in seconds, the Quadro®/Fitzpatrick Scalable Lab System™(SLS) allows you to transfer results from small-sample R&D tests to full-scale production.
Industry experts associated with new product development must keep several things in mind, first and foremost being that they need to make certain any equipment selected at the laboratory stage can be transferred to a production-scale model. Larger capacity models must possess the same technology in order to achieve desired results in the final product.
This challenge can now be handled more effectively with the introduction of the Quadro® / Fitzpatrick SLS – Scalable Lab System™. Also, it can accomplish this feat with only nominal variances in particle size distributions. Interchangeable size reduction heads on the single-platform SLS ensure that during trials, the lab-scale technology is easily duplicated at volumes typical to production-scale equipment; the only additional requirement being a straightforward transfer of operating parameters.
The material processing technologies and primary size reduction capabilities most often used in oral solid dosage processing are incorporated into the Quadro® / Fitzpatrick SLS – Scalable Lab System™, making it the ideal material processing technology for security screeners, hammer mills, and conical mills.
